Our Philosophy.
Our philosophy for health care reflects the belief that true healing involves much more than simply managing symptoms. It’s about empowering patients, addressing root causes, and fostering long-term wellbeing.
We believe the body is a self-aware, self-regulating, and self-healing organism. When free of interference, it functions at its optimal potential. However, nerve interference can diminish the body’s ability to express true health and vitality.
The nervous system controls, coordinates, and regulates every organ, tissue, and cell in the body. The skull, spine, and pelvis are vital in providing stability and protection to your nervous system. Physical, chemical, and emotional stressors can disrupt its function, creating what we call subluxations.
Chiropractic care focuses on analysing, detecting, and correcting these vertebral subluxations, and restoring proper neurological function. Essentially, we help your body to do the healing, exactly the way it is designed to do.
The Fundamental Pillars of Health and Wellbeing.
At Stella Chiropractic, you will hear all about the Fundamental Pillars, and often! The pillars contribute to a well-functioning body, creating an optimal environment for health, healing, and longevity. Work on one, and you'll feel better. Work on them all, and that's where the magic happens!

What is Chiropractic?
The Australian Chiropractic Association (ACA) defines Chiropractic as ‘a profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the neuromusculoskeletal system (spine); this includes the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health’.
Chiropractors focus on the detection and correction of abnormal spinal function and its subsequent effect on how the nervous system controls and coordinates the body.
Chiropractors provide patient-centred care and work in partnership with their patients, by using shared decision making through a detailed consent process and using communication strategies that are tailored to the needs and preferences of the patient.
Chiropractors are educated to modify their techniques to suit the age and presenting condition of a patient.
Chiropractic care is delivered by 5-year university educated, AHPRA regulated healthcare professionals, with a commitment to ensuring evidence informed care is provided to patients.

What to Expect.
-
Your chiropractor will have reviewed your intake forms prior to your arrival. We will have a detailed discussion about what has brought you in. If this consultation is for your child, we’ll also get into pregnancy and birth history, growth and development. We will talk about your goals for care – essentially, why you’re here and what you would like to achieve.
We conduct a thorough assessment including orthopaedic and neurological examinations and any special tests. If the complexity of the case requires any imaging (X-Rays or MRI) or further management, we will make the necessary referrals, and if appropriate, liaise with your GP, or Allied Health professionals. If Chiropractic care is the right choice for you, we will often provide some preliminary treatment. You can be confident that before this happens, we’ll chat further about whether we think we can help and our recommendations going forward.
Please allow approximately 45 minutes.
-
We will provide you with an explanation of the results of your initial assessment and discuss a clear plan of action built towards achieving your goals. If appropriate, treatment will also be provided on this visit.
Please allow up to 30 minutes.
-
Once the initial and report visits are complete and we have made a plan, the subsequent visits will be fairly quick. When delivered by an experienced practitioner, you can generally be in and out of the office in 15 minutes. We will continue to give you corrective exercises as well as education on lifestyle modifications.
Please allow 15 minutes.

FAQs
-
A Chiropractic adjustment is the application of a specific force in a precise direction, applied skilfully to a spinal joint that is fixated, “locked up”, or not moving as it should. This can help improve or restore motion to the joint, helping the spine to gradually regain more normal motion and function. Restoring better spinal function can help improve mobility, vitality, and endurance.
-
Chiropractors use skill, not force or strength to conduct specific chiropractic adjustments, and treatment techniques are modified to suit the age and health profile of each individual.
Regardless of the approach used, you can rest assured that chiropractic care has an excellent safety record when performed by skilled practitioners. While it carries a very low risk, especially compared to invasive spinal treatments, all forms of manual therapy have the potential for adverse reactions in some people.
-
There are many different techniques that we use to improve alignment and restore function. They are generally classified as either manual or low force techniques. We may use Manual Diversified (HVLA), Activator, Drop-piece, Biomechanical blocks, Cranial and Soft Tissue modalities.
Chiropractors are trained to modify their techniques and methods to suit the presenting complaints and/or the age of the patient - from newborns to nonagenarians! We will discuss our plan to ensure you are comfortable before we proceed with any treatment.
-
A manual adjustment creates a rapid and gentle stretch in your spinal joints, producing a small pop. This is the result of pressure changes causing gas to release from the synovial fluid within a joint capsule. This gas reabsorbs within about 30 minutes, but the benefits to the joint capsule and ligaments remain. The sound is not your bones cracking, as is commonly believed!
Some techniques make no audible sound at all, yet remain effective. -
That is completely up to you! Much like the choice of how often you service your car, visit the dental hygienist or how often you exercise, the decision is always yours.
If you have pain however, chances are it didn’t develop overnight. Most issues stem from chronic dysfunction caused by physical, chemical or emotional stressors.
Expecting a chronic and/or severe problem to be healed in one visit is unfortunately a totally unrealistic expectation. Any change you wish to make to your body – whether it be to get out of pain, lose weight or build muscle mass, takes time and repetition.
As chiropractors, through a thorough history and examination, we form a working diagnosis before providing recommendations based on evidence, clinical experience, and your personal goals.
I will provide you with all of the necessary information so that you can make an informed decision with clarity and certainty. The ball is always in your court.

While every patient comes to us with their own individual circumstances, we find that care generally falls into the following broad categories:
Relief Care – The emphasis is on relief of pain and symptoms. It does not necessarily address the root cause of your problem and is not geared toward long term results. We’re here when you need us!
Restorative Care – A deeper, more structured approach, tailored to your goals. Regular adjustments, lifestyle guidance, and small, sustainable changes that help create lasting improvements. Commitment leads to better results.
Maintenance Care – Just like exercise, maintaining spinal health requires consistency. Many patients find a maintenance adjustment once every 1-3 months keeps them moving, functioning and feeling well. As with every healthcare decision, you are in control and get to decide what works for you and your family.
